Flavorful Pot Roast

Ingredients:

2 boneless chuck roasts (2 ½ lbs. each)
1 envelope ranch salad dressing mix
1 envelope Italian salad dressing mix/don’t use zesty Italian
1 envelope brown gravy mix
½ cup water
Chopped fresh parsley

Directions:

Put the roast in a 5 qt. slow cooker.  In a small bowl, combine the salad dressings and gravy mix; stir in water.  Pour over meat.  Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or until tender.  If desired, sprinkle with parsley and thicken cooking juices for gravy.


Meat Loaf

Ingredients:

2 large eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
2 slices bread, crumbled
1-1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1/2-3/4 onion chopped
1/2-3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup ketchup - for top of meat loaf

Directions:

1.   Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  

2.   Whisk eggs, milk, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.  Add crumbled  bread to egg mixture and stir until dissolved.  Mix ground beef, onion, cheddar cheese, and brown sugar into egg mixture; transfer mixture to a bread or loaf pan.  Spead ketchup over meat mixture.  

3.    Bake in the preheated oven until no longer pink in the center, 60-75 minutes.  An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 160 degrees. 


Sloppy Joes

Ingredients:

1 lb. ground beef
½ cup bell pepper chopped
½ cup onion chopped
1 cup ketchup
¼ cup water
2 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp. prepared mustard
½ tsp. garlic powder
½ tsp. onion powder
½ tsp. salt
4 hamburger buns


 Directions:

In a large skillet, cook beef, bell pepper and onion until meat is no longer pink; drain.  Stir in ketchup, water, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder and salt.  Bring to a boil.  Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes.  Serve on Hamburger buns.



Beef Stroganoff

Ingredients:

1.25 lbs. ground beef

1 small onion , diced
1 (8 oz.) box of mushrooms, sliced
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 tsp. thyme leaves
3 tbsp. flour
2 cups beef broth
1 tbsp. Worcestershire 
2 tsp. Dijon mustard
1/2 cup sour cream
Dried parsley for garnish
Cooked egg noodles or rice for serving
2 garlic cloves minced

Directions:

Preheat a large, nonstick skillet over medium heat.  Add the ground beef and break it up with a spoon.  Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and sliced mushrooms.  Season with a pinch of salt, pepper, and dried thyme.  Cook until the ground beef is browned, the onion has softened, and the mushrooms are golden.  Sprinkle the flour over the top and stir to coat.  Cook for a minute over medium heat.  Pour in the beef broth, Worcestershire, and Dijon mustard.  Stir and bring to a simmer to thicken for a few minutes.  Turn off heat and stir in the sour cream.  Taste for seasoning and add more salt and pepper if necessary.  Serve over cooked egg noodles or rice and sprinkle with the dried parsley.




Best Burgers Ever

Ingredients:

1 lb. ground beef
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. dried basil
3 tbsp. teriyaki sauce
2 tbsp. Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
1 tbsp. grated parmesan cheese
3 hamburger buns

Directions:

Mix ground beef, onion powder, salt, pepper, dried basil, teriyaki sauce, breadcrumbs, and grated parmesan cheese in a large bowl.  Make into patties and cook.  Serve on a bun with your choice of fixings.
